Beckenhauer Construction is approaching the finish line on the final phase of work at the Norfolk Iron and Metal campus, marking the completion of a series of major improvements to the facility. The current focus is on the 2,000SF Warehouse Locker Room renovation, a project designed to improve the comfort and functionality of the space for employees.

This phase of construction includes the installation of new resinous flooring, updated lockers and benches, and renovated toilet and shower areas. The resinous flooring was completed in mid-February, creating a durable and low-maintenance surface built to withstand daily use. Then, crews installed lockers, benches, and plumbing fixtures, brought the space closer to its final transformation. Progress moved efficiently to reach owner turnover ahead of schedule.

This locker room renovation is the final step of a much larger project at Norfolk Iron and Metal, where Beckenhauer Construction was hired as the Design-Builder to oversee a 16,300SF, two-story office addition and a 29,500SF multi-phased office renovation. The office expansion provides modernized workspaces, conference rooms, and common areas, while the renovation upgrades existing facilities to better serve employees and improve overall operations.

Throughout this project, Beckenhauer Construction worked closely with Norfolk Iron and Metal to ensure each phase was delivered on time and with minimal disruption to ongoing operations. The phased approach allowed sections of the facility to remain functional while construction progressed, ensuring a smooth transition for employees moving into the newly updated spaces.

With this final phase complete, Beckenhauer Construction is proud to have played a significant role in enhancing the Norfolk Iron and Metal campus. The improvements made through this multi-phase project will provide employees with a more efficient, comfortable, and modern workspace for years to come.
