Employee Giving in Action
Each year, through our Employee Giving Fund, we have the privilege of making a difference in the communities where we live, work, and play. Thanks to the generosity of our employees who contribute through payroll deductions—and the company’s matching donations—we’re able to extend a helping hand to those in need.
This Christmas season, we were honored to support several families and organizations across multiple communities. In Norfolk, we assisted a single mother of five, whose children range in age from three to sixteen. She is overcoming the challenges of a brain injury caused by domestic violence and is currently between jobs without transportation. She needed support to make the holiday season special for her children, and we were grateful to help.
In Scottsbluff, we donated a commercial popcorn machine, along with popcorn, oil, and bags, to the Western Nebraska Veterans’ Home. This will provide residents with a simple but enjoyable treat throughout the year. In Stanton, we helped brighten the holidays for residents in two local nursing homes by providing 800 gift bags filled with essential items.
In Vermillion, we supported a young disabled mother and her nine-year-old son, who has developmental disabilities. The mother does not have a car and is struggling financially, so we helped by paying her overdue electric bill, purchasing clothing and a warm coat for her son, and providing a grocery gift card to ease financial strain. In West Point, we stepped in to assist a family who recently opened their hearts and home to three siblings in foster care, growing their household from four to seven members. We continue working with them to address their specific needs.
