Clay County Law Enforcement Center Groundbreaking
Tuesday October 3rd, Beckenhauer Construction celebrated the start of the new Law Enforcement Center in Clay County South Dakota with a Groundbreaking ceremony.
The new Clay County Jail & Law Enforcement Center will consist of 54,000 square feet, housing 54 beds (with potential to add 44 beds in the future) and offices for the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Vermillion Police Department. The agencies will also have shared support spaces including a breakroom, locker rooms, evidence processing and storage, a multi-purpose room and interview rooms. Also included in the facility are training room located off the public lobby for staff training and other uses, 911 Dispatch Center, Emergency Management Office and Alternate enclosed parking garage for agency fleet vehicles and Emergency Management equipment.
The architect for the project is JLG Architects and consultants include: Banner Associates, Inc. (Civil), Confluence (Landscape), ERA Structural Engineering (Structural), Associated Consulting Engineering, Inc. (Mech/Elec), Ericksen Ellison and Associates, Inc. (Security), JB Marie, LLC (Consulting Architect)
